SELECTING A REALTOR If you have just sold successfully, you are more likely to choose to represent you, the Realtor who assisted in your sale. However, if you were not satisfied with the overall effectiveness of that Realtor, if you are relocating to another community, or if you are becoming a homeowner for the first time, you will have to select your Realtor carefully. You will not be paying the bill for retaining this Realtor. He will be sharing the commission, paid by the Seller to the Listing Agent. That however, is no reason to be careless in your Realtor selection process. You can not predict the calibre of the Listing Realtor for the home you eventually choose to purchase. He could be one of the top-selling Realtors in the entire area. You want your Realtor to be at least as effective! To successfully select a Realtor, follow the guidelines outlined in Chapter Three. Confirm a potential Realtor’s credentials and track record:
